Poem published in A Tale of Four Cities anthology
I submitted a poem to A Tale of Four Cities, an anthology project based in Heidelberg, Germany that was dedicated to uniting the work of writers from the five UNESCO cities of literature. My poem was selected and published. Titled "Norwich", it analyzed Norwich, one of the five UNESCO city of literature and my home for almost four years during and after university. "Norwich" is a part of my wider collection of "City Poems", which use the arrangement of words on the page to relate to the motifs associated with different cities around the world, evoking both their physical and intangible characteristics.
Excerpt from "Norwich"
"the sermon seeps out under the door, diffusing to match the rainbow-draped stripes of the city,
I paint my hair
shades of teal and pink
and dance until the night turns violet
turns lilac
turns steel."
