ABOUT SHANNON
Shannon Lewis is a writer, editor, and general literature enthusiast. Hailing from Queretaro, Mexico, she holds a first-class degree from the University of East Anglia's (UEA) English Literature with Creative Writing program.

She currently works as a content manager at AWS. Recently, she freelanced as a horror movie feature writer at Screen Rant, and a business and technology writer at Bizclik Media, writing for trade magazines and conducting interviews. She has experience in editorial as the deputy editor for Speciality Food, the leading fine food trade magazine, writing for both the online and print magazine and curating its news section and social media. While at UEA, she co-founded arts-and-literature magazine, Octarine. In 2019, she worked as a ghost writer for a fiction manuscript.
Her poetry and prose can be found across a number of anthologies and magazines, including: Undertow, A Tale of Four Cities, Bare Fiction, Underpass, Octarine, City of Stories, and Underline. She received the UEA Dean’s Prize 2016-2017 for a science fiction short story and was shortlisted for the 2019 Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize.
Currently, she is working on several projects including horror website Slow Burn Horror, a collaborative young adult urban fantasy series, a horror anthology of short stories, a magic realist television screenplay, and a list of the greatest short stories ever written (but that last one's just for fun).

In literature, Shannon is drawn to the cross-section between story, cultural background, and character development. She runs a personal blog exploring these elements within the Mexican and American high school reading curriculum to inspire the same curiosity in students. When she isn't busy reading everything ever written by Kurt Vonnegut and Zadie Smith or dissecting her favorite genres including rom-coms and superhero movies, you might find her playing guitar, rock climbing, or putting together ridiculous playlists with titles like “Let's Get This Bread: Empowering Bops” and “Bowling Alley Music”.
